Auto Electric Guns
Auto Electric Guns, or AEGs, are divided into two categories, assault rifles and sub-machine guns. Assault rifles are typically larger in size and better suited to outdoor scenarios and long range skirmishes. Sub-machine guns are perfect for close quarters battle and indoor or compact locations.
All AEGs work the same way. They have an internal electric motor that drives a piston foward and back, compressing air behind the BB and propelling it out of the barrel. This action is performed several times a second for fully automatic fire and once for every trigger pull for semi-automatic fire. All of our AEGs have both semi and fully automatic fire capability.
All AEGs come with one magazine, which contain between 50 and 500 rounds, depending on the model. All magazines are removable and a large spring pushes BBs through the lip of the magazine for continous fire.
The motor that drives the internal gearbox is powered by an electric battery, very similar to those found in remote control cars. They are typically housed in the stock of the AEG, and have a 2 pronged plug that connects to an internal cable. Simply plug in the battery and you're ready to go. Batteries are sold seperately and can be found in our Batteries & Chargers section.
A note on "Clone" AEGs
We do not stock cheap "clone" AEGs, as these are often poorly made, use inferior materials, have poor rates of fire and dont last very long. They also come with very poorly made batteries. We only stock AEGs from the BEST manufacturers like Tokyo Marui and Classic Army, which feature metal parts and bodies, real firearms insignia and outstanding build quality. In the long run you will get a far more reliable airsoft gun that will give you years of reliable service.
Airsoft, the law and YOU
All of our AEGs comply with Irish law. None of our AEGs exceed the 1 joule limit of muzzle energy and there is ABSOLUTELY no way they can be converted to fire live ammunition. All AEGs are designed to fire 6mm plastic BBs, they will NOT fire metal ball bearings, darts or any other kind of dangerous projectiles.
Please always wear full eye protection when using your airsoft gun. Do not carry your airsoft gun in public or you could be met by an armed response and you will be arrested or worse. Please bear in mind that although your airsoft gun is 100% legal to own, if you use it in a public place or brandish it in a threatening manor, you CAN be arrested.
