Don't see much difference with the different strenght of red and green dots. The scope itself is well made with a powdercoat finish.Zero-ing took a matter of minutes and coupled with .25 bbs my m4 is now super accurate.Top scope and top looks. I noticed some lens flare in the unit from the internal LED; turning the control to the lower brightness setting reduces this a little. Both colours are very visible even in the brightest conditions. I haven’t encountered problems with dot visibility of either colour. I bought this unit for a CA MP5. The mount as supplied needs to be modified to allow it to fit on a rail for the MP5. I have access to a machine shop so it was no trouble to mill off the required material to allow the unit to fit the rail. The ring mount doesn’t offer adequate clearance of the front sight when mounted on the rail of a CA MP5. A mount offering greater relief is a must if you don't want to see the front sight. In terms of performance, if you can live with the front sight in the sight picture or find a mount with greater relief then you’re onto a winner. The sight offers no magnification, so for the first time user who hasn’t used such a sighting system it’ll be easier to adjust to the concept of "both eyes open" operation. I wasn’t expecting it to emulate the performance of the Aimpoint, which it is a replica of, and wasn’t expecting a great deal in terms of parallax error correction. Once the sight has been correctly zeroed at the desired range I found the parallax correction to be superb. Where ever the dot was located within the sight picture is the point of impact. Excellent for shouldering an AEG & not needing to worry about centring the dot in the sight picture. Time is spent setting up the sight accurately will not fail to impress. The flip-up covers operate effectively & it’s nice to see them on a sight at this price as they add to the functionality. Covers on this style of sight are not just there to provide protection to the optics. The reason for this is that the front lens is extremely reflective. For sniping operations this may lead to reflections giving the snipers position away, the answer is to simply close the objective lens cover & carry on as normal. More... |
